As you are probably well aware, we’ve seen a significant increase in spam emails recently. Unfortunately, these malicious messages have led to compromised accounts for some subscribers.
To better protect you and your information, we’re upgrading to a more advanced spam-filtering system, called “Proofpoint”. The change will be effective Monday, December 15, as we feel that time is of the essence in getting a stronger spam filter in place.
With this update, you may notice that the look and layout of the spam filter tools will be different from e-Scout. While the interface will change, the goal is to more effectively identify and block harmful emails before they reach your inbox.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to strengthen your email security. If you have any questions or need help navigating the updated tools, we’re always here to help. Please take a look at the instructions below to help navigate your new spam filter.
Thank you for trusting us to keep you connected and protected!
How to Use Your New Spam Filter (Proofpoint Essentials)
How to Access Your Spam Filter
You’ll access your spam filter through the “Quarantine Digest” email you receive in your inbox.
This email will show a list of messages that were held back because they looked suspicious. From this email, you can manage your quarantined messages.
Checking Your Quarantined Messages
If something is in quarantine, it means Proofpoint wasn’t fully sure it was safe. You can:
- Preview the email safely (without links or attachments).
- Release the email (deliver it to your inbox).
- Release & Approve
Deliver the email and allow future messages from that sender. - Block Sender
Prevent future messages from that sender and delete the email from quarantine.
Tip: When in doubt, don’t open anything that looks unusual.
